Without further ado, we’re announcing the finalists for the 2012 Big Brain Awards. The award was created to recognize emerging local creatives, and for the past few weeks we’ve been narrowing the long list of submissions to 15 finalists in five categories.
On April 7, from 7 to 11 p.m., we’ll be honoring five winners with $500 cash prizes in the categories of design, fashion, visual art, culinary, and performing art at The Saguaro in Scottsdale during our annual Artopia celebration.
We’ll be profiling the finalists in the April 5 issue of New Times and on Jackalope Ranch starting next week. In the meantime, here are their names:
