For most of his life, Larry Forsythe had his hands in everything from concrete to steel. These days, they’re wrist-deep in clay behind a potter’s wheel. After more than 20 years in the construction business, Larry’s come out of retirement to start Another Gallery – the product of his lifelong passion for art and those who do it well.
“I can build skyscrapers,” he says, “but I don’t know how a credit-card machine works.”
He’d better learn fast. Another Gallery, his new project with Lesa Mahoney, grand-opens from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, December 4. The space will feature the work of six artists, including nationally known trompe l’oeil purveyor Gregory West and emerging watercolorist Wendy Willis.
The grand-opening festivities include drinks and appetizers.
Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $17,250 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
