If you’re reading this, I assume you keep up with the local arts scene, right?
Either that, or you’re my boyfriend, my best friend or my mother and you’re fulfilling your obligation (thanks guys).
If you belong to the first group, it’s time to think real hard…who do you know in the scene who’s due for some recognition?
Here’s your chance to throw them a little credit.

2009 marks the 10th anniversary of the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art. Every year, the Museum presents the Contemporary Catalyst Award to a group of nominees who have made a difference in our creative community. We’re talking about architects, artists, designers – those who can be classified as “cultural entrepreneurs”.
Usually, the entire decision is made behind closed doors. But this time around, SMoCA is opening up the nominating and voting process to the public through their website www.smocaanniversary.org from now until January 9th. A panel of jurors made up of community members, past winners and staff of the Scottsdale Cultural Council make the final decision.
Ok, so you may not get the last word. But at least you can get the ball rolling, eh?
Not to mention, your participation earns you a two-for-one admission voucher for SMoCA.
And, if you’re tapped in enough to nominate a finalist, you’re automatically entered to win a pair of tickets to the 10th Anniversary After-Party…so choose wisely.
