With marriage, the one year anniversary may mark the time when things have slowed down a bit. Life has hit its routine, you don’t really go out that much anymore and maybe you just don’t crumple the sheets like you used to.
It could be time for a little inspiration – some kind of amazing gift to bestow upon your love to show the spice is still there. And what do you have for a theme? Paper. What a shaft.
Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $15,500 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
Well, it may not be that bad. Just go to Tempe Center for the Arts for their one year anniversary show that features 26 Arizona artists who take paper to a whole new level. The works are done on paper, made from paper and inspired by paper. If these artists can put together an entire show based on this theme, no doubt you can come up with one gift idea.
Artists Include: James Angel, Diana Calderon, Rebecca Davis, Nick DeFord, Fausto Fernandez, Adam Reid Janusz, Stephen Johnson, Suzanne Klotz, Goran Konjevod, Sarah Kriehn, Carolyn Leigh, Annie Lopez, Kathryn Maxwell, Tameo Mikesell, Mark Pamilio, Catherine Ruane, Christine Sandifur, Eddie Shea, Karen Strom, Stepehn Strom, Marilyn Szabo, Cecelia Thorner, Mark Vinci, Joan Waters, Chad White, Grant Wiggins.
“TCA Biennial: Paper” is open until January 10th at Tempe Center for the Arts, 700 W. Rio Salado Parkway. Call 480-350-2829 or visit www.tempe.gov/TCA/.
