Well, gosh darn it, this bit of news came across my desk today.
The Kitchenette, a teeny photography gallery tucked away on Roosevelt Row (just east of five15 arts) is closing its doors after five years.
The often unnoticed gallery has been a steady, reliable source for finding local photographers and should be admired for some of their bold moves in the past. Namely, the exhibition of Betsy Schneider’s work in August 2008 – a show that featured 120 images of her naked children (for more about this artist, read the story by Amy Silverman).
The Kitchenette will close their doors at the end of March so you have one last chance to see a group show of the photography collective’s past and present members during this Friday’s Third Friday Art Walk.

The Kitchenette is located at 6th street and Roosevelt, enter through the courtyard on Roosevelt Street. Gallery will be open Friday, March 20th from 6-10 p.m.
