But, if you’re still unsure (what’s wrong with you, anyway? Agoraphobia?), I’ve got one last blog with which I will try to bait you.
Today, I want to blog about a little thing called The Train Tracks. Actually, to be more accurate, it’s kind of a big thing.
The project started at the beginning of the summer. Every week, a local band does a live, acoustic performance on the Metro Light Rail. The performances are videotaped, thrown up on the website and then viewers vote for their favorite act. Every quarter, the three most popular bands perform live at the Phoenix Art Museum. After a year’s time, the most popular band of all will play the Tempe Music Festival.

The Train Tracks’ website is super slick and provides videos and bios for each of the bands. And, I must add, they’ve had a great line-up so far for 2009. Kinch, Dry River Yacht Club, What Laura Says, Miniature Tigers, Matthew Reveles and Gospel Claws have all hit the rails.
Tonight, the second quarter finalists, Nowhere Man and a Whiskey Girl, Matthew Reveles and Captain Squeegee will all perform at the Phoenix Art Museum to compete for the #1 spot of the quarter. Admission is free.
Which means, in addition to catching a live show, you get to see this, this and this.
So you better start thinking about what to wear tonight because you are going out, my friend.
