The last meeting between the Arizona Rattlers and the Chicago Rush proved true the old adage that football is a game of inches. On the game’s final play, the Rush recovered a live ball in the end zone for an apparent game-winning touchdown. As it turned out, the ball had (just barely) scraped out of bounds before the Rush recovered. The Rattlers held onto possession and escaped with a six-point victory that punched their ticket to the Arena Bowl.
If the first two months of the 2012 Arena League season are any indication, then there should be another classic when the Rush visit the US Airways Center, 201 East Jefferson Street, for a rematch against the Rattlers. Both will bring top five offenses and top five defenses onto the field in a match between two of the AFL’s best teams.
