A collection of local voices will be heard on the radio worldwide when London-based BBC Newshour broadcasts live from KJZZ studios in Tempe this weekend.
Host James Coomarasamy and the Newshour production team spent the past week in the Valley looking for stories they hope will “help the rest of the world gain a better understanding of Arizona’s complex history, landscape, culture, and politics.”
And while global understanding of a state better known for its sheriff-inspired pinatas, current governor’s doomed memoir, and newly-designated state gun may be a tall order, it’s also bound to be a pretty good (and extremely local) listen.
Tune into KJZZ (91.5 FM) to hear residents share their stories and answer questions live on May 12 at 1 p.m., and see the Newshour and KJZZ websites for more information.
