The Wild West has played muse to a number of artists who have fallen for her landscapes, her wildlife, and her people. This year, Phoenix Art Museum continues its tradition of celebrating contemporary Western art with a partnership with the Men’s Arts Council and a public sale of work by 35 artists from around the country who pay tribute to the American West, past and present.

“The West Select” is an exhibition of more than 110 photographs, paintings, drawings, and sculptures by these artists that’s on view through Monday, December 31. The Men’s Arts Council was founded in 1967 to help support museum programming, exhibitions, and purchases of new pieces.

Sundays, 12-5 p.m.; Wednesdays, 10 a.m.-9 p.m.; Thursdays-Saturdays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Fri., Dec. 7, 6-10 p.m. Starts: Nov. 11. Continues through Dec. 31, 2012
