Keep Phoenix New Times Free
We’re aiming to raise $10,000 by April 26. Your support ensures New Times can continue watching out for you and our community. No paywall. Always accessible. Daily online and weekly in print.
We often long for the days of sleepovers and scavenger hunts, where an army of pre-pubescent girls would descend upon the neighborhood clad in pajamas and carrying clues. Now, adults can get in on the fun, too, with the Scavenger Dash. The best part: you can still wear pajamas. Or lingerie. Or a bear suit. (In other words, costumes are encouraged and rewarded.)
Participants will meet up at Alice Cooper’stown where they’ll receive twelve tasks that will lead them on a race around the city. The assignments may include finding historic buildings, walking on stilts, and grabbing take-out menus from restaurants. Each task must be captured on camera in order to win valuable prizes. To aid scavengers in their quests, the teams of two may hit up the Internet and friends via telephone. However, y’all may only use public transportation and your two feet in getting around town.
