Independent Journalism in Phoenix Needs You
We need to raise $15,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.
We’re fairly confident that if you’re old enough to get into this prom, your days of dancing in a decked out high school gymnasium or hotel ballroom are behind you.
Phoenix Spokes People are throwing a Bike Prom: a night of drinking, dancing, and riding. Expect all the prom staples, from the crowning of king and queen to photo booths, complete with plenty of papier-mache and crepe paper streamers. Unlike your high school prom, the beer will (visibly) be flowing — and with a theme like “Cyclist Chic,” polyester is actually encouraged.
Grab your bike (and a partner!) for prom night: 7 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, at The Phoenix Ale Brewery, 3002 East Washington Street. Admission is $12 to go solo and $20 per couple. Visit www.phoenixspokespeople.org for tickets.
