The challenges facing local news organizations are very real. That's why reader support matters more than ever. If you believe independent journalism matters, make a contribution today and help us reach our summer fundraising goal of $15,000 by August 9.
In what’s become a Jekyll-and-Hyde season of epic proportions, the 2012 Arizona Cardinals hold the dubious distinction of being the only team in NFL history to rattle off four wins at the season’s onset only to follow up with nine consecutive losses.
With Cardinals fans left wondering if Hyde will ever hide again and the cries for Coach Whiz’s head growing ever deafening, Red Sea rumblings have turned into an all-out tsunami. Undoubtedly, loyalists are hoping for one last home win when the equally putrid Detroit Lions visit Glendale’s University of Phoenix Stadium, 1 Cardinals Drive, on Sunday, December 16, before the formidable Bears shut down the Card’s home schedule the following week. Perhaps Coach Whiz should stop trying to polish this year’s turd and flush it already, landing a high first-rounder seems well worth it at this point. Flush, Whiz, flush!
