Keep Phoenix New Times Free
We’re aiming to raise $10,000 by April 26. Your support ensures New Times can continue watching out for you and our community. No paywall. Always accessible. Daily online and weekly in print.
The Sunnyslope neighborhood of Phoenix has attracted an “eclectic” mix of residents since it was incorporated as a town in the early 1900s: first tuberculosis patients, then Haver-esque mid-century mod architects, meth-heads, and, finally, quirky artist types.
Get a load of the ‘Slope’s newest residents at the semi-annual Sunnyslope Art Walk. The outdoor festival features paintings, ceramics and crafts from over 100 artists, including HAZEL’s letterpress note cards and chunky jewelry by Marlowe Designs. While strolling the streets, enjoy tasty local grub and music from Full Moon Jazz, Generation Gap, and headliners Surfside IV, fez-wearing instrumentalists who rock classic beach tunes.
