Forget being king of the mountain. The new landscape hierarchy lends itself to king of the curb, the skateboarding elite who can ride the rails and ollie to a standing ovation. This summer, Red Bull is teaming up with Cowtown Skateboards in a search to crown the Red Bull Curb Kings. This local talent competition awards cash prizes to the top three finalists who can skateboard through an urban obstacle course of double-sided curbs and customized parking blocks.
Red Bull Curb Kings happens Friday, August 29, at Cityscape, 1 East Washington Street. On-site registration begins at 5 p.m., with the competition running from 6 to 9 p.m. Participating skateboarders must be 18 or older to compete. All skill levels are welcome, but space is limited.
