The new semester starts in just a few days. Thank God? Yes, because if you’re like us, you’re probably looking for anything to break the routine of lounging on the couch or by the pool.
Seriously, though, you don’t really want to go back to school, especially after checking out the final event in the Arizona Wakeboard Association Rider’s Series at Lake Pleasant Regional Park, 41835 North Castle Hot Springs Road. The event is free to spectators, with board-skiing competitions ranging from beginner to “outlaw” for those daring enough to take the plunge in one of the Valley’s most scenic water holes. Barcalounger potatoes and nerds who have already purchased their textbooks for the fall need not apply.

Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $15,500 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
