Veteran stand-up comic Bobby Slayton is an equal opportunity offender. Throughout his 26 years behind the mic, the self-described “Pitbull of Comedy” has put women, men, gays, straights, Jews, African-Americans, and Hispanics on blast with an unending stream of vitriolic and often-profane invectives delivered in his signature gravelly growl.
Slayton, also known as “Yid Vicious,” is utterly sexist, chauvinistic, misanthropic, an avowed enemy of political correctness, and — ultimately — a total riot. And the funny thing is, the people laughing loudest at Slayton’s shows are typically the targets of his spite.
You can get in the insult comic’s crosshairs during any of his six performances over four nights this weekend at Stand Up Live, 50 West Jefferson Street, including his gig at 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 2. Tickets are $20. Call 480-719-6100 or see www.standuplive.com.
