$10,000

Opera is occasionally good for some yuks, and Arizona Opera is out to prove that to the people who might otherwise just be shopping for the latest best-selling trade paperback.

For this performance, audiences can skip the box office, the theatre seating, and the stuffy crowd. In the latest of its off-site Arizona Opera Presents series, the company is showcasing the comic beauty found in famous arias at “High Jinks and High C’s” at Borders Books & Music. Performed by the Arizona Opera Street Singers and members of the Arizona Opera Orchestra, these comedy highlights from the 2009-2010 season are offered for free.

Tue., April 20, 7 p.m., 2010
