Four Borders book store locations in metro Phoenix will close as part of a 200 store dust-biting, mediabistro.com is reporting. And the company filed for bankruptcy today. 
This comes as no surprise to bookish types, but still — big news.

The just-released list (“Exhibit A,” literally) includes a Tucson location, as well as the longtime Borders spot at Biltmore Fashion Park and a newer location across the street from Scottsdale Fashion Square. The other two metro Phoenix locations are on Mayo Blvd in Scottsdale and Cactus Road in Phoenix.

We are particularly disappointed to be losing those fantastic magazine sections. (You can’t call it a newsstand at Border’s — it’s way bigger than that.)
