Americans party their brains out on St. Patrick’s Day. We’ve got Cinco de Mayo down to a science. And Oktoberfest celebrations are on the rise. What’s next? Looks like Brazilian Independence Day is in the crosshairs for our latest adopted holiday.

Try your hand at Brasil Fest ’10 at Martini Ranch & Shaker Room. The night will feature live Brazilian music by Grupo Liberdade; Brazilian dance by Capoeira Brasil AZ and SambaAZ; spins by DJ Sean Marquand; and traditional Brazilian food and drink. Banding Hendrix and Closer will be on-hand creating live art as prizes and gift bags are handed out.

By the way, in case you aren’t familiar with Brazil’s history, you may want to know that the country gained its independence from Portugal on September 7, 1822.

There. Now that you’re educated, feel free to party.
