ASU’s Performance in the Borderlands Project is bringing artists, academics, activists, and community members together in a public forum to discuss how art can change and shape the city.
“Breaking Boundaries: Art, Innovation, and Social Engagement” will feature a panel of ASU professors involved in theatre and art, as well as innovators and other active members and leaders in art communities in the Southwest.
“The event is being framed as a round-table conversation more than a series of speakers,” says Rachel Bowditch, one of the panelists and an Assistant Professor at the School of Theatre and Film. Bowditch will also be speaking about Vessel, a theatre company “dedicated to exploring innovative intersections between physical theatre, dance, circus, visual arts, and multi-media technology.”
Tomorrow night’s event will also include an outside media installation by local multimedia artist Efrain Robles (whose work you can check out below) as well as multimedia theatre performances by Phonetic Spit Poetry.
