Downtown’s been sprouting new buildings like a garden that grows new fall bounty. Right in the middle of this construction bumper crop is the Downtown Phoenix Public Market, which recently augmented its Saturday-morning hours with a new shopping night for you locavores (a.k.a. a person who exclusively eats food harvested within a 100-mile radius). Can’t make it to the weekend without some of Seacat Gardens’ gorgeous haricots verts, tasty tomatoes from One Windmill Farm, or Maya’s Farms’ fantastic field greens? No problem. Swing by any Wednesday and fill up on local produce, cheese, farm-fresh eggs, baked goods, and more on your way home from work. Don’t feel like cooking? Then pick up some brats, soups, salads, posole, or enchiladas and chill out under the stars to live music while you wait for rush-hour traffic to disappear.
