Have you always wanted to take that spin class but have nightmares about getting stuck in the pedals and crash-landing into the floor?
The Madison Improvement Club, the Arcadia neighborhood’s health club and lunch spot, offers monthly No Frills, Still Fun courses for those interested in spinning or doing “downward dog” without looking like a novice. Party On A Bike 101 and Yoga 101 cover the basics, like positioning on a spin bike and beginner yoga poses. Expect only 10 to 15 minutes of actual sweat time, but The Madison offers weekly sessions to sign up for once you’ve found your groove. “No Frills” classes are capped at 15 people, so reservations are encouraged.
Sweat it out from noon to 1 p.m. and again from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, January 19, at the Madison Improvement Club, 3802 East Indian School Road. Class is free for members, $10 for non-members. Visit www.themadisonphoenix.com or call 602-296-7118.
Sun., Jan. 19, 12-1 & 1:30-2:30 p.m., 2014
Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $15,500 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
