Those suffering from Scottsdale bull fatigue (of the red and mechanical varieties) can buck their boredom at Running of the Bulls USA on Friday, October 14. More than 30 1500-pound bulls will run six races down a quarter-mile track in downtown Cave Creek.

Organizers expect the run to bring in a few thousand sprinters who, after signing a slew of safety releases and agreements, will be free to run for their lives while racing the bulls to the final pen.

It’s the fourth time the organization has produced a bull run, loosely inspired by the 400-year-old tradition in Pamplona, Spain. It’ll also be the fourth time they’ve given PETA activists something to do on the weekend.

Fri., Oct. 14, 4 p.m.; Sat., Oct. 15, 11 a.m.; Sun., Oct. 16, 11 a.m., 2011
