One week, five minutes.

Those are the rules in a nutshell for the Campus MovieFest, where ASU students are invited to borrow free equipment for one week courtesy of the fest, churn out a five minute film, then submit their mini-vision for a chance to win a slice of $400,000 in prizes and to have their film screened at university red carpet finales. More info and a few trailers from past films after the jump…

If you’re an ASU student, you have until September 22 to sign up at campusmoviefest.com. Then, grab a camcorder and Apple laptop at room 226 of the Memorial Union from noon to 5 p.m. After that, you can (read: have to) return the goods by September 28.

Finalists will be screened at Madcap Theaters on October 25.
