Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa’s The Muckle Man tells the story of a marine biologist who’s searching for giant squid, and who drags his wife and kids along with him on the hunt. Mom and kids aren’t happy about this — or about much of anything else, it seems. But on the latest expedition, a strange man shows up, having just walked in out of the sea, and suddenly things are more interesting for the biologist and his family.
And for anyone, it’s our guess, who heads to Nearly Naked Theatre’s production of The Muckle Man. The heck with holiday-themed plays and musicals; this one’s got giant squid, crabby housewives, and a naked merman named Arthur Campbell. Who could ask for anything more?
