Hey, downtowners. Wouldn’t it be great to do something fun and interactive with your lunch hour besides waiting in line for fatty foods with other grumpy cubicle trolls? Now you can (at least on Thursdays), thanks to a massive team effort between Karuna Village Fair Trade, Radio Phoenix, ASU’s College of Public Programs, the City of Phoenix, and the Downtown Phoenix Partnership. Every Thursday between now and April 29, the Lunchtime Music Series at Civic Space Park presents live performances by local musicians. (The artist scheduled to perform is Radio Phoenix’s Clinton Switzer, who plays emotive indie folk and a pretty mean harmonica.)
Future performers include Vanessa Atalanta, Ree Boardo, Noel Barto, and Tobie Milford of the Whisperlights. The event is open to all ages and professions, so go ahead and show up in your monkey suit, business casual garb, or work uniform.
Thu., Jan. 28, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., 2010
