Since opening earlier this summer, Roosevelt Row art space Gallery Parallax has hosted an impressive calendar of shows brought together by owner Emily Caldwell, a photographer/actress/model with a background in painting and fine art portraiture. Now on the heels of the symbolic end of summer, Caldwell closes out the “Midsummer Salon Show,” a group exhibition with 40-plus pieces from more than two dozen Phoenix artists.
“’The Midsummer Salon Show” is a perfect curation of what it is I see in the downtown Phoenix art scene,” says Caldwell.
The show includes works from surrealist painter Geoffrey Gersten, Cheyenne Poole, and landscape and still life painter Vince Fazio. It also features pieces from Caldwell and 2011 Big Brain Award winner Joseph “Sentrock” Perez.
The show will be on view by appointment on Thursday, September 13, and close the following day.
Fri., Aug. 17, 6-10 p.m.; Saturdays, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.; Fri., Sept. 7, 6-10 p.m.; Thu., Sept. 13, 11 a.m. Starts: Aug. 17. Continues through Sept. 14, 2012
