Luxurious materials, a unique build, and a healthy dose of fashion mag hype are key ingredients in the making of an “it bag.” From Proenza Schouler’s trendy PS1 to classics like the Hermès Birkin bag, there’s always a tote-worthy carryall to lust after.
A variety of desirable handbags, including designs from Fendi and Gucci, will be up for auction at It’s in the Bag on Friday. The Women’s Metropolitan Art Council hosts the bidding party and cocktail mixer, which will be held at, as well as benefit, Phoenix Art Museum. Other chopping block items include a fur coat and diamond earrings.
“We will be doing a wine pull, and I am really looking forward to watching guests be surprised by what wines they get from the wine rack,” says Alex Cooper, WoMAC’s president. Cooper explains that guests can purchase a wine tote and fill it with surprise vintages at the end of the night.
