The challenges facing local news organizations are very real. That's why reader support matters more than ever. If you believe independent journalism matters, make a contribution today and help us reach our summer fundraising goal of $15,000 by August 9.
Normally, a trip to the zoo during summer means sweating and watching animals in heat. Not that kind of heat; just literal, stifling heat.
By Saturday, July 21, even the zookeepers will have had enough and proclaim it Winter in July. They’re trucking in more than 20 tons of snow to cool down the entire animal kingdom, and, yes, visitors can partake in the chilling out, too. Expect snowball throwing and water play areas for the little ones. Even four-legged, furry, and feathered zoo residents will enjoy the snowfall and icy treats. Radio Disney will provide music, games, and prizes.
