Most comedians take a detour into kid-friendly work at some point. Filthy-mouthed Bob Saget cleaned it up for Full House and Eddie Murphy spent a few years in family-friendly purgatory with his Dr. Dolittle flicks. For Tommy Davidson, it was a spell with Disney’s The Proud Family. But don’t expect him to tone it down for this performance.
Davidson’s breakthrough was in the early 1990s on In Living Color where the versatile comic handily nailed impersonations of Sammy Davis, Jr. and Sugar Ray Leonard. Most recently, he landed a role in the blaxploitation spoof, Black Dynamite. These days, he’s back on the road with his standup.
