$10,000

Like a lot of holiday traditions, making gingerbread houses always seems like a great idea. That is until you find yourself scraping frosting off the kitchen counter and digging up gum drops out from under the sofa cushions. This year why not skip the mess and save your energy for creating your edible masterpiece by attending Hermosa Inn’s Gingerbread House Cooking Class?

Led by pastry chef Duc Thang, this cookie construction course offers everything you need to design and decorate your sugary dream home. Additional food and beverage will be provided so that candy construction workers can keep their M&M-tiled roofs intact.

Class is in session Saturday December 21, and Sunday, December 22, at 5532 North Palo Cristi Road in Paradise Valley. Classes run from noon to 2 p.m. Admission is $40 per gingerbread house. For more information, visit www.hermosainn.com or call 602-955-8614.

Sat., Dec. 21, 12-2 p.m.; Sun., Dec. 22, 12-2 p.m., 2013
