When Grandma’s craft box is suddenly bringing back the sexy – or at least picking up an eclectic retro soundtrack – it stands to reason that we’d be intrigued.
Enter Fall SMoCA Nights: “Stitched” – an evening of fashion inspired by modern craft culture and the exhibit “Radical Lace & Subversive Knitting.” Models will present “Smock You” by Alison Wilson, “Kitsch Niche” by Tara Kratzner-Bills, and other crafty pieces by local designers, all set to the sounds of live ’60s-era music by Acapulco Five-0 and the spins of deep-house DJ dk.strickler. Attendees are encouraged to try their hand at putting crafty outfits together for the occasion.
