Keep Phoenix New Times Free
We’re aiming to raise $10,000 by April 26. Your support ensures New Times can continue watching out for you and our community. No paywall. Always accessible. Daily online and weekly in print.
Art Detour turns 26 this year. And to pre-celebrate the citywide art walk, which takes place Saturday and Sunday, March 8 and 9, some of Phoenix’s biggest players are hosting a decidedly grown-up gathering.
Hosted by Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton, Downtown Phoenix, Inc., and Artlink, the Art d’Core Gala will feature music, art, food, and dance, celebrating the creative types that enrich the city’s urban core. Also on the agenda are a speech from the Mayor and the unveiling of the Phoenix Phabulous History Mural, which comprises works of art detailing Phoenix’s past, present, and future.
Get gussied up for the free, “fun formal” night out, which kicks off at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 1, at Crescent Ballroom, 308 North Second Avenue. Guests are encouraged to dress in bright colors because Art Detour’s theme is “living in color.” Though the party is free to attend and open to the public, attendees are encouraged to RSVP in advance via www.eventbrite.com/e/art-dcore-gala-tickets-7989636217.
