We kind of have Neil Simon to thank for Robert Redford, who would have become a giant movie star no matter what but really took off when he followed his long Broadway run in Simon’s Barefoot in the Park with a reprise of his role as uptight lawyer Paul Bratter in 1967’s hit film version.

Newlyweds Paul and Corie Bratter were the Dharma & Greg of their era. (Dharma was the Manic Pixie Dream Girl of the turn of the millennium. If you’re younger than that, you’re on your own.) As the honeymoon ends in their tiny, freezing, leaky sixth-floor walkup, there’s still humor, romance, and hot eel appetizers. Join the fun at 7 p.m. Thursday, February 6, at Don Bluth Front Row Theatre, 8670 East Shea Boulevard, Suite 103, in Scottsdale. Tickets for shows through Saturday, February 22, are $23 at www.donbluthfrontrowtheatre.com, or call 480-314-0841 for discount availability and more information.

Thursdays-Saturdays, 7 p.m. Starts: Jan. 30. Continues through Feb. 22, 2014
