If you thought raves were like, so 1993, boy were you wrong.
No, we’re not talking cheesy house music, glow sticks and hallucinogenic drugs but we are talking a ten-hour rager that will knock your crafty socks off.
The Valley’s coolest crafters, Kathy Cano-Murillo and Cyndi Coon (full disclosure: Coon is a Phoenix New Times freelance writer), are hosting Phoenix’s first Craft Rave. This DIY event includes some serious local big shots teaching mini-workshops on crafts like screen prints and handmade journals. If you don’t trust the hands-on approach, these creatives have got you covered with ready-made inventory for your shopping pleasure. A treat station stacked with sweets, coffee and energy drinks will supply you with enough energy to fuel your creative fire. Swag bags filled with freebies will be handed out to the first 100 ravers.

Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $17,250 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
