When it comes to holiday gift giving, it really is the thought that counts, and no gift indicates well-spent time and energy like a hand-made one. Unfortunately, not all of us inherited the crafty gene. You know, the one that allows us to recreate projects from the pages of Home and Garden in beautiful form and color?

For a little guidance ®C and projects with Chicano flair ®C try The Sagrado’s Make and Take Holiday Feista at 1023 Grand Avenue. On Saturday, December 22, from 2 to 4 p.m., Phoenix Fridas member Monique Mata will lead a craft workshop, which will include three project options. The Fridas celebrate the Chicano craft experience, with members like Mata planning and leading community events such as this throughout the year.

Will you step up to support New Times this year?

At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $15,500 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
