inatas are fun to break, but this March, Beatrice Moore hopes you’ll have even more fun making one.
Moore, who owns Kooky Krafts and operates the arts venue Bragg’s Pie Factory on Grand Avenue, announced she’ll be hosting the fifth annual Mutant Pinata Show and is currently looking for wacky creations. (Think paper mache creatures with three eyes instead of two, teeth on their toes instead of claws, scales instead of fur — you get the picture.)

“The original idea came from a Mutant Pinata display I created with my friend Bob Adams about thirteen years ago,” says Moore.

All piñatas must be delivered to Bragg’s Pie Factory, 1301 Grand Avenue, between 8 a.m. and noon on March 1 or by special arrangement.
Piñatas are also required to be sturdy and able to hang for two months without falling (or falling apart). All who participate in the show have the option of selling their work. Seventy percent of the price will go to the artist.

This show is scheduled for March 1 and will run through April. And yes, we have a couple ideas in the works. Game on.

If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.

$30,000
