As long as Tempe’s Yucca Tap Room, the Valley’s most venerated dive bar, continues to meet the perfunctory requirements of a live music venue (a P.A. and an occasional sound man) it will continue to be a premier destination for diamond-in-the-rough rockers looking for a gig, and aural gourmandizers alike. At least that’s how Johnny Volume sees it.
The esteemed DJ who spins there regularly also funnels most of his ETC Promotions concerts through the Tap, giving punk bands a desert oasis of PBR and a spirited in-house crowd.
But every other Tuesday, it’s JV’s turn to unplug the amps and put the needle to the wax. Spinning all things punk rock, the rambunctious, the raucous, and what little lies between, Delinquency with DJ Johnny Volume is the valley’s finest way to make the week’s most forgettable day memorable.
