While many American Idol finalists go on to Z-list fame – anyone remember Nicki McKibbin who graced the cast of VH1’s Celebrity Rehab? – one-time American Idol fourth place finisher Chris Daughtry has proven his star isn’t in danger of falling anytime soon. Daughtry, who sold over five million copies of his debut album and is a radio fixture with infectious rock jams like “It’s Not Over” and “Feels Like Tonight,” is busy packing arenas these days on a headlining tour where he’s cranking out angst-filled anthems. Rumor has it that the charismatic front man is even throwing in a couple covers on this tour – spoiler alert – covering Phil Collins’ “In the Air Tonight” and Billy Idol’s “Rebel Yell.” Love him or hate him, Daughtry clearly isn’t going away, proving he has more staying power than Jesse James and Sandra Bullock’s marriage or a Ruben Studdard diet. Lifehouse, who collaborated with Daughtry on a track off their new disc Smoke and Mirrors, will open the show along with Cavo.
