Check out these oft-forgotten treasures Phoenix Art Museum is neat, SMoCA rules, and Mesa Arts Center is pretty rad. So are all of the other Valley museums that may not get as much turnstile love. We’re talking about the Arizona Military Museum, 5636 East McDowell Road, which displays rare relics from the Arizona Territory’s military past; Superstition Mountain Museum, 4087 North Apache Trail in Apache Junction, a space that displays some unbeatable mountain and region history; and Glendale’s Bead Museum, 5754 West Glenn Drive, an eye-wowing spot that hordes a world-renowned, super large collection of beads. All of these and more will offer complimentary admission on account of International Museum Day. Since you’re getting in for zero dollars, remember to return the favor by visiting again when it’s not free. Better yet, you can pay it forward by throwing some dough in the donation jar on Tuesday, May 18.

If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
