As most people get all warm and fuzzy during the holiday season, others flip their shit. There are just so many times when the stress of shopping for stupid gifts and coordinating stupid family schedules is just too much to handle. That’s when banging your head and screaming it off is a great release. Shake out your holiday tension at the “December to Remember” show, where an all-local lineup takes the stage to get you to rock the eff out. Phoenix’s Her Fatal Flaw headlines the show, performing songs off their recent release, Betrayal. And if that still sounds too cheery for you, the metal and rock lineup also includes bands such as Silence the Hypocrisy and Killing Spree, the later of which cites “murder,” “death,” and “kill” as influences. The most interesting part of the night may be the performance by the one pop artist on the nine-act bill, Jacob Tyler Lucas. In between all the growling and guitar solos, Lucas and his band celebrate the release of their sophomore CD, Is This Real?, making it a concert that you could totally bring your mom to. Well, for one of nine sets, anyway. — Nicki Escudero
