Independent Journalism in Phoenix Needs You
We need to raise $15,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.
Come thirsty to Devour Phoenix’s Sixth Annual Bartending Competition. The three-round competition features nine local bartenders: Michael Soo for Crudo, Titus Fontleroy representing St. Francis, and Libby Longlott of The Parlor Pizzeria among them. Judges include last year’s champion (The Parlor’s Mike Allmandinger), Jessica Hill of New Times, and Ross Simon, creator of Bitter & Twisted and co-founder of Arizona Cocktail Week. Though only one cocktail can be crowned, others can win crowd-sourced categories like best-dressed, friendliest bartender, and most unique garnish.
Sip and savor both shaken and stirred at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, at Crescent Ballroom, 308 North Second Avenue. Tickets are $25 advance or $28 day of and include samples of all nine concoctions. Visit www.crescentphx.com or www.devourphoenix.com for tickets and a complete list of competitors.
