Darrin Armijo-Wardle was raised in Page, Arizona, and writes that, he was captivated at a young age by illustration, drawing, and painting. His work often stems from political and social commentary, and for his next solo exhibition, titled “Deconstruction + Return,” he’s taking on digital culture.
The artist says his paintings were inspired by conversations he had with his twin brother via Skype. In the moments when their Internet connection would break, a glitch in the visual — a slowing or complete freeze of the pixels that make up whatever is on the other side of the camera – would appear, thus informing his latest work.
