French dance music has a rep for being a bit fey. But DJ and producer Joachim Garraud’s guttural bass and propulsive beats sound decidedly macho. His songs “The Computer” and “Street Sound” are harder, better, faster, and stronger than much of what comes from his compatriots; he has been hired to add his signature grit to remixes for pop stars like Moby and Kylie Minogue.
