L.A. and Phoenix ain’t the best of pals. They disdain us. We loathe them.
But not right now.
What’s good for the goose kicks ass for the bottom-line gander, and the rival Arizona Diamondbacks and Los Angeles Dodgers are allied in a higher cause for the next month or so: the Cactus League. This year, the Dodgers left Vero Beach, Florida — the team’s spring-training home since 1948 — for Glendale’s new Camelback Ranch Stadium. While we hate the Dodgers like poison, at the moment, we’re feelin’ a pat-on-the-butt kinda bond.
The Boys in Blue play three games at Camelback Ranch this week, and one is on top of our must-see list: at 1:05 this afternoon, the Dodgers host their Camelback Ranch co-tenants, the Chicago White Sox, themselves defectees from Tucson.
