When we first heard about Sip & Spin – an event at the jazz-centric Kazimierz World Wine Bar where attendees can sip on fine wines while listening to live DJ music – our jazz-snob radar hit 10. “Great. Way to perpetuate the jazz and wine stereotype, guys,” we thought with noses in the air. Then we found out that topnotch DJ Mantis Claw is host of the weekly affair. He’s a favorite MC of ours who manipulates sounds such as spoken-word recordings and downtempo jams. It was at that moment that we stopped being, well, no-good douche lords.
