It’s obvious by now that we Phoenicians have fully embraced Cinco de Mayo. Not only does the blowout “holiday” provide a much-needed excuse to get completely hosed, but the traditional event always makes for one hell of a party. While Latin festivities don’t necessarily need improvement, leave it to one of the Valley’s favorite GLBT bars, Karamba, to put together Kaliente Saturdays, a dance evening that, on top of the Latin party energy, is fabulously gay. DJ Tranzo spins Latin Top 40, salsa, merengue, and rock and pop en español for the 21-and-over crowd, while DJ Melo takes care of the 18-and-overs after hours with high-energy Latin house.
