The Arizona State Sun Devils football team has started the season strong. Other than an early hiccup on the road, the Devils have outclassed every team they’ve played. Heading into this weekend’s showdown with the reigning conference champion Oregon Ducks, the Devils look like contenders in the Pac-12.
Sound familiar? Yeah, it should. Because it’s exactly what was said about ASU last year. Then, Oregon ended up crushing ASU, and the Sun Devils wound up losing six of their last seven games.
We’ll know whether this year’s Sun Devils team is different after Thursday, October 18, when they get their rematch against the Ducks at Sun Devil Stadium, 500 East Veterans Way in Tempe. If the Devils can hang with Oregon, it’ll prove that they’ve turned a corner. Otherwise, ASU fans will be left with a bad case of déjà vu.
