The Scottsdale Culinary Festival’s still going strong in its 34th year. Let’s not discuss putting everything end to end (because most of it would have gone bad by now), but that’s beaucoup bites and slurps of yummy stuff.

On Thursday, April 19, check out Bubbles and Bliss, a champagne-infused cocktail and snack bash from famed Distrito chef Jose Garces, served poolside from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Saguaro, 4000 North Drinkwater (ironically) Boulevard. Admission is $40. If you prefer things more hands-on, the festival’s inaugural Burger Battle goes down from 6 to 10 that evening at Scottsdale Stadium, 7408 East Osborn Road, with $55 getting you tasting and voting privileges on 16 gourmet burgers, plus tuneage from The Walkens.

Besides the weekend’s venerable-yet-thrilling Great Arizona Picnic, 17 other events over the course of the six-day fest promise appearances from eater celebs Adam Richman and Andrew Zimmern, competitions, fashion, special meals and parties, and other diverse foodie experiences. (Or just fun with things to eat and drink — we don’t have to slap a label on it.)
