Since there’s really no better accessory than a cocktail in your hand, each week Jackalope Ranch brings you a tasty adult beverage from one of our favorite drinking establishments, complete with recipe. This week: English Garden at Hanny’s.

The aptly named English Garden cocktail at Hanny’s is a fresh and sophisticated take on the classic gin and cucumber combination. The aroma and flavor of juniper, cucumber, and elderflower blend to create a cocktail that is bright, floral, and green. A splash of lush English Garden is the perfect remedy to enliven these summertime doldrums.

(recipe after the jump)

Ingredients:
3.5 oz. Hendrick’s Gin (Hendrick’s is strongly recommended, as it is cucumber infused)
1 oz. St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur
Three slices cucumber

Muddle two cucumber slices with the Hendrick’s gin in a cocktail shaker until the cucumber is well crushed and has released its juices. Add the St. Germain Elderflower liqueur and crushed ice. Shake vigorously and strain into a chilled martini glass garnished with a cucumber slice. Let this crisp, refreshing cocktail transport you to a cool, verdant garden (in mind, anyway, there’s really nothing we can do about this soul crushing heat).
